As you will be aware, the new tennis club membership year starts on 1st<\/sup> April 2019. We very much hope that you are as excited as we are and will decide to renew your membership. We have enclosed a revised membership application form and would be grateful if you could complete this and return it to us as soon as possible, but no later than the 31st<\/sup> March 2019. Please could you fill in your contact details only if they have changed<\/span><\/strong> in the last year.<\/p>\n

Members who pay by 31st<\/sup> March 2019 may deduct \u00a35 from their subscription. Members who pay by bank transfer may also deduct an additional \u00a35. Therefore, members who pay by 31st<\/sup> March 2019 by bank transfer may deduct a total of \u00a310.<\/p>\n

We will be giving Cardiff Lawn Tennis Club racquet dampeners to those of you who pay by the 31st<\/sup> March 2019 so don\u2019t delay!<\/p>\n

At its meeting on 4 February 2019 the committee discussed the budget for the new financial year. In determining the level of membership fees, the committee took into account the large increase in electricity costs from 1 March 2019, when the club\u2019s current two year fixed price deal comes to an end, increases in bar wages costs because of Minimum Wage legislation and other general inflationary price increases. In addition, the committee will be looking to bolster club reserves over the next few years in order to ensure that there are sufficient funds for the court and floodlighting renovation programmes. Set against this, over the last six years retail price inflation has been 10%; whilst during this period the adult membership fee has increased by a very modest 2%. Taking all of these factors into account, the committee has decided to increase the adult subscription fee by \u00a310, which is approximately 4% and is broadly in line with current retail price inflation.<\/p>\n

As agreed as part of the 2018 budget process the over 65 membership fee is being brought into line with the adult membership fee over a period of three years, and this is the second year in that process.<\/p>\n

Thank you to all members who have supported us in the first year of our new role as joint Membership Secretary. You have been a great help. We look forward to receiving any feedback that you might wish to give (positive or negative!<\/em>) during 2019\/2020.<\/p>\n
