Cardiff Lawn Tennis Club is enjoying a formidable 2016 with its best junior players bringing home trophies and the club\u2019s teams winning every top division of the open category events in south Wales.<\/p>\n

Located within the grounds of Cardiff Castle, the club continues to be hugely competitive within the south Wales leagues and has this year taken the title in every top division including:<\/p>\n

Premier 1 Men Doubles league (5th Consecutive year-unbeaten in 50 matches and awarded \u2018Team of the year\u2019 at the Tennis Wales Awards 2016)
\nPremier 1 Ladies Doubles League (3rd consecutive year)
\nDivision 1 Aegon Men’s Singles League
\nDivision 1 Aegon Ladies Singles League
\nDivision 1 Winter Men’s Doubles League
\nDivision 1 Winter Ladies Doubles League
\nDivision 1 Winter Mixed Doubles League<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s junior teams also dominated this year\u2019s events including the Welsh Championships with wins going to Tiarnan Brady (winning the men\u2019s singles, 18&U singles and the doubles), Aeron Evans (18&U doubles with Finnian Bult), Ellis Cochlin (18&U doubles), Frank Powell-Davies (14&U doubles), Hugo Cochlin (12&U singles). There were also wins this summer for the juniors at the Cardiff LTC Open, Penarth, Swansea, Gwent Open and 26 members competed at the annual Torquay tournament with members Tiarnan Brady and Aeron Evans bringing home the men\u2019s singles, 18&U singles and 18&U doubles tittles between them.<\/p>\n

John Williams, head coach of the club is thrilled with the club\u2019s team and individual performances this year. He says: \u201cAs a club, we had a great 2015 with junior and club success but this year has been an even better achievement, particularly the success of our club teams winning all top divisions in south Wales.\u00a0 It really is testament to the hard working players and close-knit club members who all encourage each other to succeed while having fun along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club continues to improve the coaching programme, by increasing the number of opportunities for adults with beginners coaching, cardio tennis, improvers coaching, doubles tactics and team practices.<\/p>\n
