There has been quite a lot of action lately so here is a quick summary of where everyone stands leading into the last 2 weeks of the boxleague…..<\/p>\n
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
\nAfter a promising start the guys at the top of the pile are sadly lacking in any leadership skills with only one match played so far – Paul & Jon Pryce …..where are you!!!!!!!<\/p>\n
EUROPA
\nLots of matches played here. On the WEST side if Brandon ever posts his last match score against Hywel then he will be promoted and big Jon is looking good for second place. The temperature is set to drop a few degrees in the James household as it looks like Rhian and Hywel will be in a relegation shootout shortly!!! Over on the EAST side Dave Broad is looking strong but he still needs to play Meryl in what will surely be a promotion shootout. Chris Rees is wobbling after 2 defeats and that confident swagger has disappeared as he is now embroiled in a relegation battle with mixed double expert Pete Clue!!<\/p>\n
PREM1
\nTicking along nicely with just 3 matches left. On the West side myself and Nick are unbeaten. Paul has finished his matches and will have to look on nervously at other results as avoiding relegation is now not in his own hands. On the EAST Stephen is finished on 8 points and only leftie Brian Niblett can overhaul this tally if he wins against Steve Tong. Boxleague favourite Val had a bad season and is relegated<\/p>\n
PREM2
\nOn the WEST Jon Hillard, the most committed player in CLTC, is promoted and its a three way battle to avoid relegation between Graham, Buddug and Matthew. Buddug is a little behind the pace here having only played one match but then again what do we expect when we look at her parents!!!! On the EAST side Rod is looking strong but he still has to play Gareth Bishop. Ivan is holding things up a bit here……wish I had a pound for everytime I have said that!!!!<\/p>\n
PREM3
\nOn the WEST side there seems to be lots of game dodging going on with everyone waiting for the perfect conditions before they play…..someone needs to remind them its Cardiff, officially the wettest city in the UK……you never get perfect condtions….just get on with it!!!! Over on the EAST side Elin needs to play Jon FL in a promotion shootout. Newbie Ben looks like he was put in the wrong box having faced 3 heavy defeats ……sorry about that Ben but blame Jon Hillard who talked you up!!!!<\/p>\n
CHAMPIONSHIP
\nPlenty of action here. On the WEST Kim is still at the top anxiously looking over her shoulder at Paul Senter who will pip her to promotion if he beats Alex. Boxleague newbie Laura is relegated but well done on getting all your matches played so quickly Laura. Som has the EAST side sewn up with 3 straight wins. Relegation is a 3 way fight amongst the newbies Geoff, James and Aled<\/p>\n
DIV1
\nOn the WEST side Arfon has taken to praying before playing and tops the box on 8 points. However, lurking in the shadows is Dai Griff who is looking to bounce back after his pitiful relegation last season and he has Andrea Webster in his way. Andrea has nothing on paper to fight for as she is already relegated but for the sake of the integrity of boxleague we hope Andrea doesn’t roll over for Dai and puts up a fight. On the EAST side its a big moment for Marion who is at last promoted having come so close so many times only to falter at the final hurdle. Relegation is still not decided but it looks like it will be between Paul and Jo.<\/p>\n
DIV2
\nOn the WEST side Jon Hamilton is promoted and Vlad, Phil and Antoine are all in the relegation mix. On the EAST Stephen Ng is looking strong with 2 wins under his belt and is the only one safe from relegation.<\/p>\n
DIV3
\nOn the WEST Gafyn has played all his matches and is safe but he can still be caught by Gill and He He who can still both be relegated too although Shelley is looking a little wobbly in this regard with 2 losses already. I am rapidly giving up on the EAST side as they haven’t played a single match yet and everyone on the large waiting list are starting to circle like vultures because if they don’t play their matches they will be dropped and spaces will appear for those people who are keen to play<\/p>\n
DIV4
\nOn the WEST side its Alex who is holding up the determination of this box – surprise surprise!!! The East side is the first box to finish its fixtures with the mysterious Chris Waymouth dishing out some savage beatings on his way to promotion!!!<\/p>\n
OK that’s it. You all know the score. If you haven’t played 2 matches yet then you are behind the gain line and need to get cracking right now and arrange and play your matches.<\/p>\n
