This session is open to all players who can; rally from the baseline, volley and smash, serve overarm and understand basic doubles tactics.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s ideal for those who: * Want to play tennis, but at their own pace * Want to build up their confidence. * Are returning from an injury. * Just need a bit more time getting to the ball.<\/p>\n

What is Walking Tennis? \u00a0It\u2019s a game that\u2019s open to anyone – whether you\u2019re a lifelong tennis player, just starting out or just need a bit more time to get into the swing of things, you can give the game a go in a supportive setting.<\/p>\n

You can play tennis at any age and Walking Tennis offers an easy way to keep your body and mind active \u2013 while also enjoying the social side of being part of a tennis community. How do I play? It\u2019s still tennis \u2013 but with a few tweaks: tweaks: * You can let the ball bounce twice for extra time. * You can play on a smaller court and use modified equipment. * Players can\u2019t run or jump. No refunds will be given once registered.<\/p>\n

The coaching team offer individual lessons and comprehensive group programme that cover the full spectrum of tennis ages and abilities. Whatever your tennis ambitions are, we have a coaching programme that can help you realise them.<\/p>\n

John Williams \u2013 Head Coach<\/h3>\n

The club Head Coach, John Williams, holds a full LTA Accreditation, and secured the LTA Senior Performance Award in 2011. Before joining Cardiff LTC in 2002 John was Head Coach at Mackintosh LTC and Penarth LTC and also worked with National Ranked Players as a coach with Tennis Wales. John was a Singles and Doubles Welsh Champion from Juniors to Seniors and represented Wales from U14 to recently in the Over 35 age group. He has been the Captain of the Men\u2019s 1st Team for over 20yrs which has won the South Wales Premier 1 Division for the last 11 seasons. This included an incredible run of winning 100\/100 matches over 10 seasons.<\/p>\n

John\u2019s main focus is to increase the amount and level of competitive and social tennis played at the club. To this end he has designed, and personally oversees, a comprehensive and totally inclusive coaching programme, which focuses on improving technical skills, fitness levels and tactical awareness for all ability levels, from the complete beginner through to Senior Welsh Champions. Players that have come through John\u2019s programme have won National Events, won Welsh Titles at various age groups including the Open event, represented County and Wales, but also gone on to gain Scholarships in American and British Universities as well as Millfield School. Some have also become full time tennis coaches.<\/p>\n

John has also won the \u2018Coach of the Year Award\u2019, \u00a0‘Official of the Year’, he was Captain of the ‘Team of the Year’ and the Manager of ‘Club of the Year’\u00a0in the Tennis Wales Awards.<\/p>\n

Corey Brady – Club Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corey holds an LTA accreditation and has worked for multiple clubs including Whitchurch LTC and the Vale Tennis Academy. Corey has been a member of Cardiff LTC since he was 8 yrs old and has over 18 years of tennis experience, both competing and supporting players. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corey also works with Cardiff University Tennis Team, coaching all eight of their teams. This includes the top two teams that compete in the BUCS Premier South leagues, the second highest university league in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corey’s focus is on developing players who are new to tennis, helping them start their journey, as well as supporting experienced players to become the players they aspire to be. He currently works with players of varying abilities, enabling them to gain the skills necessary to play socially and excel competitively in local leagues and external tournaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corey has captained the Winter Men’s and Mixed 1st team, leading them to win the top divisions in South Wales. He also represents the National and Regional teams, as well as playing a key role in the team that won the 2024 South Wales Summer Doubles league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
